This is a beautifully crafted wine from Le Marche in middle Italy. The vibrant purple hued appearance leads to a fresh summery perfume of rose, strawberry, Morello cherry and liquorice root. The uncomplicated juiciness of the palate begs for a second or third glass!
This is classic youthful Barbera, the type of wine served in many a little country Trattoria in the heart of the Langhe. The rich purple colour leads to a vibrant nose of fresh plums and damsons with a floral note. The palate is juicy and fresh with crisp acidity and superb concentration of black and red fruits. This is a Piemontese classic and would match very well with simple braised meat dishes or Sausages with Polenta and chilli.
Gotico is a more serious wine than its younger sibling. Rich, concentrated with the added complexity of new oak, this is serious robust red wine. The 'terroir' comes through very well as the oak is not obtrusive and the earth and minerals combine with ripe plums and jam on the chunky palate! Great for Fillet Steak!
The wine reveals a stunning vibrant deep ruby colour in the glass with a luscious rich viscosity. The nose is equally rich and enticing with red and black cherry and berry fruits and hints of warming spice. The palate is balanced and intense with a layer of rustic earthiness under the sumptuous fruit. A great wine showing that this region is perfectly suited to the Montepulciano variety!
Borgeri is dark and jammy in appearance and has a stunning depth of fruit on the nose with cassis, plums and spice to the fore. The palate is full and meaty but with fabulous acidity and balance. It is a fine example of the Maremma and a richer fruitier Tuscan alternative.
Cabernet Franc does very well in Friuli where the warm summers and well drained soils help to produce fully ripe fruit with none of the varieties green stalkiness that can occur in wines from the Loire. The fruit is soft with aromas of cranberry, red cherry and plum with just a hint of green bell pepper and mint. The palate is medium and very fresh with crisp acidity and integrated tannins. A lovely wine, well balanced and perfect with white meets or 'affetatto' (selection of salami and cured meat).
A deep ruby colour leads to an intense lively nose with notes of red and black berries, cinnamon and tobacco. The palate is profound, complex with an intense fruit character and savoury undertones. A fabulous wine for rich game or roast pork.
Type: Full bodied red wine
Varietal: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot

‘Noi represents the passion, the commitment and the pride which all of us in San Patrignano- not only those working in the vineyards and cellars- feel and live our land. That’s why this wine is made up of all our red grapes and is a symbol of our identity and belonging.’
This is a stunning example of how good Rosso Conero can be. The montepulciano variety finds a second home in the low hills of the region and produces wines of stunning concentration, depth and complexity. Grigiano has a wealth of rich dark fruits, prunes and raisins over damson and blackberry. The fruit is interwoven with spice and vanilla from the lightly toasted oak. A stunning wine for fillet steak!
Carteria is the finest cru of Sandro Fay’s superb range of single vineyard Nebbiolo. Located at 450 metres above sea level, the cool climate and intense sunshine mean the wine is intensely concentrated yet with a cool backbone of elegant acidity. The nose opens with pronounced red berries, rose and spice. The palate follows through with fine tannins and great warmth. This is a superb rustic, earthy Nebbiolo, a very personal wine that demonstrates Marco Fay’s commitment to quality and region identity.
Montepirolo entices the drinker with an intense deep ruby colour leading to a powerful nose of blackcurrant, sweet marjorum, humus, liquorice with touches of balsamic. The palate is deep with superb balance between tannins, acidity, and fruit. A classic accompaniment is quails cooked with thyme but Montepirolo is also stunning with slowly braised beef.
Type: Full bodied red wine
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc
