Since 1852, the Niedermayr family has been a landowner in one of the most breathtaking landscapes for the cultivation of the vine. The estate lies in the picturesque village of Cornaiano, or Girlan in the local language. Generation after generation of Niedermayrs have continued to expand their land ownership to a total of 15 hectares today. They are managed by Josef Niedermayr. Most of the hectares are dedicated to vineyards in various sub-zones of the Uberetsh area like Pramol, Asherhofer, Larcherhofer, Lage Nuan, and Lage Doss, 75% of which are planted with local red grapes, and 25% with local white grapes. For the past 50 years the Niedermayr estate has benefited from the expertise of Mr Martini, who in lo1982 retired and passed on his position of winemaker to his son, Lorenz Martini. Lorenz has since become one of the most successful oenologists in Italy. Their wines are a perfect example of wines which respect terroir and tradition without altering the particular characteristics of each grape variety.
