Alessandro Starrabba, owner of the azienda agricola, produces Rosso Conero from 16 hectares of vineyards, 9 of which were planted in 1971 and the other 7 were replanted in 2000. The vineyards are all planted with Montepulciano and are situated around the hill of Grigiano at of about 210m a.s.l. and they are all facing south.

In the cellar Alessandro has done some major changes in the structure and in the equipment since 1997 and together with oenologist Sergio Paolucci, started up a new culture for his wines, aiming solely for high quality, finesse and character, while preserving the style of the Rosso Conero DOC.

Tasting Note:  The wine reveals a stunning vibrant deep ruby colour in the glass with a luscious rich viscosity. The nose is equally rich and enticing with red and black cherry and berry fruits and hints of warming spice. The palate is balanced and intense with a layer of rustic earthiness under the sumptuous fruit. A great wine showing that this region is perfectly suited to the Montepulciano variety!
